The new tourist Resort of Marina di Rotondella is based on the search for a model that coexists with the surrounding socioeconomic, territorial and urban realm. The existing closed model of tourist resorts now present along the Italian coastline declares the socioeconomic failure of the segregated “tourist enclave”, where activities depend on the seasonal flow of tourists, with an overall layout which is unable to become part of the local landscape.
Rotondella’s identity is generated on the basis of constant exchange with the surrounding multiplicity, independently of seasonal flows, and the added value of tourism, in search of a more respectful continuity with the local culture and landscape. The project is structured by private and public worlds articulated along the creation of new open spaces: the marina and the new golf course, as the main players in the master plan guaranteeing a flow of users throughout the year, allowing the resort to compete on a higher level.
